Communications CRM: Keeping Every Conversation on the Record
Short answer. On this page, a communications CRM means customer relationship software that records calls, texts, chat and email against the same contact, not software built for telecom companies or contact centers.
Close scores highest of the fourteen tools on this communications CRM grid, 8.0 on 37 tagged reviews. Koncert, second at the same rounded score, rests on 10 tagged reviews.

Beyond the scores
What separates these tools is how much of the conversation each one keeps on the contact itself: calls, texts, chat and email. The sections below read calls, messaging, price and the review evidence behind each score.
Calls live in the CRM, a phone system or a dialer
Close puts its power dialer on the Growth plan at $109 per user a month, billed monthly. Apollo lists a built-in dialer on its Basic, Professional and Organization plans, and HubSpot lists a power dialer with voicemail drops and CRM logging.
RingCentral, a cloud business phone, lists on-demand call recording, and Dialpad, an outbound sales tool, lists call recording, call logging and CRM updates. Orum and Koncert are dialers: Orum lists parallel dialing on up to 5 lines at once, and Koncert lists bi-directional sync with Salesforce, SalesLoft, Outreach and HubSpot.
Texts, chat and email reach the contact record in different ways
Here, CRM unified communications means one contact record that shows calls, texts, chat and email together. Close lists SMS and a multi-channel inbox, Monday lists emails, calls and meetings logged to the record, and Pipedrive lists two-way email sync with up to five accounts.
The fifth dimension on this grid is activity capture and sync. Affinity scores 8.2 on it on 9 tagged reviews and lists automatic email and calendar capture. Salesforce lists automatic capture of emails and events, yet scores 5.8 on it on 4 tagged reviews. On the service side, Zendesk lists messaging and live chat on its Suite Team plan.
Free plans, paid tiers and currencies differ across these tools
Prices were read between Sep 28 and Oct 19, 2026. HubSpot lists a free plan for up to 2 users, and Zoho limits its Free Edition to 3 users. HubSpot's Starter plan starts at $7 per seat a month, billing period not stated, and Close's Solo plan is $19 per user a month, billed monthly. Dialpad's Essentials plan is $49 per user a month, billed monthly, and its Premium plan is $79 per user a month, billed annually. Zendesk's Suite Team is $55 per agent a month, billed annually.
Monday, Pipedrive and Zoho show Canadian dollars: Monday's Basic plan is CA$21 per seat a month, Pipedrive's Lite plan CA$34 per seat a month and Zoho's Standard plan CA$25 per user a month. Koncert prices its plans on request.
Scores rest on very different amounts of review evidence
Under 10 tagged reviews, a score is weighted toward the site average. Zendesk has 1 tagged review. Dialpad has none and is scored at the site average. RingCentral's 7.6 rests on 7 tagged reviews. Affinity's 7.5 rests on 10 tagged reviews. Orum's 7.4 rests on 12 tagged reviews.
The larger pools carry lower scores. HubSpot's 7.3 rests on 85 tagged reviews. Salesforce's 7.0 rests on 82 tagged reviews. Pipedrive's 6.8 rests on 104 tagged reviews. Apollo's 6.8 rests on 104 tagged reviews. Monday's 7.0 rests on 77 tagged reviews. Zoho's 6.5 rests on 81 tagged reviews.
Before you choose
This page does not rank customer communications management software. It reads CRMs and phone tools that log calls, texts, chat and email on a contact.
No. The tools on this page are sold to businesses, not only telecom companies: RingCentral lists businesses of all sizes as its audience, Zoho businesses of all kinds and Zendesk businesses from startups to enterprises.
This page does not rank contact center software as a class, so it does not say what one adds. Among its tools, RingCentral lists drag-and-drop call menus with automated greetings and multi-location administration of call flows.
Yes, where the vendor lists it. Close lists calling, email and SMS in one CRM, and Monday lists mobile calls recorded, transcribed and documented in the CRM. This page reads vendor listings, not tests of each log.
On the vendors' pages, Pipedrive lists call recording and transcription in Nova, included in all plans at no additional cost, Monday a built-in Calling Agent, and Zendesk telephony on Suite Team. Koncert lists its sequencer as an add-on.
